Easter on Kangaroo Island 2013 – Night Photography

Our final night on Kangaroo Island was spent out on the driveway until about midnight trying to get some photos of the night sky. Every time I think of trying out long exposures in Adelaide, it reminds me of how clear the skies are in Penneshaw and makes you realise that the night sky in the city just isn’t quite the same!

We were rather lucky to have reasonably clear skies for our long exposure experiments, with only minimal cloud cover. Most of these photos have exposures from 30 seconds (where torchlight was used) up to approximately 1 or 2 minutes for just the night sky. Unfortunately the neighbours next door decided to come home around midnight and turn all their lights on which put an end to our photography session for the evening.
