This post will be a nice short one. The day was mostly spent out at Patong Beach to see what the area was like before we went to a show in the evening. Patong Beach, although it had lovely sand like the beaches in Australia, was definitely a tourist trap. The beach was filled with tourists, and people trying to sell water sports activities like jet ski rides. It was nice to be able to see it, but I’m glad we didn’t actually stay there for our stay on Phuket as I’ve found Phuket Town to be much more interesting the Patong.
If you want to relax by a beach and drink beers (which you could comfortably do in Australia during summer…) then Patong Beach would be your ideal location. If you’d rather not be surrounded by Aussie bars, other tourists and hawkers then you’re probably better off elsewhere.
