Before we moved down into the Chuo District to see the Tsukiji Fish Market and Imperial Gardens we decided to stop off at the National Science Museum in Ueno Park as we didn’t have time to do the museum and the zoo all in the same day yesterday.
I was very glad we didn’t attempt to do both the zoo and the museum on the same day. The museum is huge and took us a good 5 or so hours to walk around the special exhibit as well as the two permanent galleries. If you’re going to visit a museum in Tokyo, I would highly recommend the National Museum of Nature and Science. General entry is about 600 yen for an adult which is very affordable and the exhibits are well laid out – it’s still an enjoyable museum to visit even if you can’t read Japanese.
