World Travel 2013-2014, The Beginnings of Our Sahara Trek

After a few days in Marrakech, Takeshi and I decided we might try to head out on a tour. Well, technically we had to find something that left the next day, was only three days long at most (had a flight we need to catch) and wasn’t going to blow our budget.

Fortunately we found a three day, two night tour heading out to the Sahara which looked pretty good so we signed up and off we went! Day one was spent crossing the Atlas Mountains (2260m high) before visiting the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. We made a stop for lunch (which we didn’t partake in) before driving a lot to reach the Dades Gorges and then our accommodation for the night.

I have to say, I wasn’t overly impressed with the included dinner (it was pretty bland and not great quality) or the accommodation, but for the price of the tour I wasn’t expecting much.
