Monarto Zoo – An Afternoon at the Zoo
New Years Eve for 2012 was spent at Monarto Zoo with my partner. We spent the afternoon hunting for photos of animals, and seeing if we could spot many of them hiding from the heat. There are roughly 17 different types of African and Asian animals across 1,000 hectares. A loop bus operates around the zoo to take you to and through the different exhibit areas. It is a rather nice zoo; however, the sprawling size of the zoo does make it more challenging to get around as you need to wait for the loop bus rather than moving onto the different areas at your own pace.
Photography wise it was again a mostly automatic setting day with some manual focusing – have to start to get a bit more adventurous!
For more information about the zoo head to Monarto Zoo’s website here.
After Monarto we headed to Hahndorf for an early dinner.
