World Travel 2013-2014, Final Wanderings through Göreme

Our final day in Göreme was spent wandering up to the Open Air Museum, and then wandering around the rock formations in the area. We didn’t end up going into the museum (I’m a bit museum’d out), so it was rather nice to be able to just walk around and enjoy the scenery.

Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that fantastic, and we didn’t stay out for long as it began raining on and off for the day. The rain wasn’t that heavy until about 10 minutes before our night bus to Istanbul arrived – while we were waiting at the bus stop. Of course. Fortunately we didn’t get as soaked as the downpour in Malaysia, but still, it would have been nice if the rain could have waited only 10 minutes!

Our final night in the area was spent in a different accommmodation, as Takeshi wanted to experience the cave accommodation in the area. I wasn’t super keen as we had already stayed in a similar style accommodation in Coober Pedy, and yeap it lived up to my expectations. It was freezing cold, damp and none of the radiators worked in the dorm which meant I didn’t get a lot of sleep prior to our night bus!
