Japan 2016, A Day in Tokyo

Back in Japan! We flew into Tokyo and had a very short overnight stay in the city before heading to Kyoto via the bullet train the next day. As we landed early in the morning we had a bit of time to roam around and check out a few things. We walked around the Asakusa area (the temple is beautiful) as well as visiting the Snoopy Museum (a lot smaller than I expected) as well as the Studio Ghibli exhibit (awesome, and the views were amazing!).

Lunch was at a sushi restaurant near the Tsukiji Market. We thought we’d try it out before the market (eventually) moves. It was amazing sushi, unfortunately the wasabi and shellfish contamination got to me a bit so I couldn’t eat it, but Takeshi enjoyed it a lot! I suspect he might have enjoyed it even more considering he didn’t have to share much of it….

This was also the first trip I was taking a new camera on. After several years of carrying around the Nikon I decided to try out a smaller, lighter interchangeable lens. All of the photos from this trip were taken on the Sony A6000. It’s a rather nice little camera, and we’d find out later on the trip that heading into crowded areas without a large DSLR would be great…
