World Travel 2013-2014, Churches and Bells of Sofia

Finally got out and about and saw a few of the sights around Sofia! Will keep the text of this post short and let the photos do the talking. Sofia is a rather relaxing city to visit and the churches are incredibly beautiful there. You can’t take photos inside, so you’ll have to take my word for is (and also the photo of the entrance to the cathedral). Even the small churches are covered in frescoes all the way up the walls and ceilings, and are very highly decorated.

I don’t think Sofia is a place we would have visited though if we weren’t transiting through. Unfortunately with the amount of time and money spent getting to Europe from Australia, a small, quiet city isn’t necessarily high on the list of places to visit!
