World Travel 2013-2014, Exploring New Frontiers at the British Museum

I’m not going to lie. The British Museum is huge. As in you could lost in it for a week and still not read all of the information on the exhibits huge. Yup.

We decided we would tackle as much of this museum as we could in an afternoon – ha! That was a stupid idea. We did manage to get through quite a number of galleries before museum overload began to set in (symptoms may include disorientation, a sense of being an ant or a hamster on a hamster wheel, dehydration etc). After that point we used the handy guide in the map of ‘if you only have one hour in this museum what should we see’. Would highly recommend checking out those marked exhibits if you only have a small amount of time in the museum as it does really help target the famous exhibits while giving an overview of the different collections.

The Egypt section was always busy, and it was rather cool getting to see the Rosetta Stone as well as the friezes from the Parthenon. I’m still not sure how I feel about some of the exhibits in the museum considering the tension between Britain and some countries regarding their means of acquisition.

Anyway, with all that said here are some photos from the museum. It’s an awesome museum and if you only get the chance to see one in London, this one would have to be it.
