World Travel 2013-2014, Feria de Abril in Barcelona
Today was a lot of fun. Not only did we get to explore Barcelona and see the sights from one of the viewpoints as well as stop by the musical fountains (very beautiful), but we also got to see Barcelona’s version of a famous Spanish festival. The Feria de Abril is held a few weeks after Easter every year in Seville. We found out through Emma at our hostel (thanks Emma!) that Barcelona was also holding a festival.
Of course, we jumped at that idea! So off we went in the evening with Emma and Adrien from our hostel and had a look at what a Spanish festival is like. We had great fun, although I have to admit having a shellfish allergy is a bit of a downer when eating in Spain. Takeshi and I ended up heading off and hunting down some food ourselves from the many different food vendors which turned out to be a great idea. We got to nibble and try a number of dishes before wandering back to watch some of the dancing.
Highly recommend checking this festival out if you’re in Barcelona at the right time!
