World Travel 2013-2014, Maokong Gondola and Taipei Zoo
Today’s expedition was out to the Maokong Gondola and Taipei Zoo.
First stop was Maokong Gondola, which unfortunately due to the weather only provided us with fantastic views of mist. Seems very familiar, why almost like the time we attempted to go to the peak in Hong Kong… We made it to the top though, and then began the hunt for the Tea Promotion Centre. It was a bit drizzly, and cold but we eventually found the centre. Fortunately for us there was hot tea on offer (for free!) which warmed us up and gave us the opportunity to try out some locally grown tea.
The remainder of our day was spent at Taipei Zoo. Taipei Zoo is a bit of an odd one. It isn’t necessarily a bad zoo, but it isn’t great either. It also has a strange layout which makes the zoo feel very linear and as if you’re on a conveyor belt. Entry is rather cheap at $60 TND an adult (about $3 AUD) and zoos are always a good way to spend the day, or afternoon in our case.
