World Travel 2013-2014, Skyline of Tokyo and the Busy Streets of Asakusa

The day started extra early at 4am so that we would be able to catch our early morning flight from Osaka. Once the flight and train trips were complete, we were in Tokyo!

Our first day was spent visiting the observatory at the Tokyo Skytree. Unfortunately while it was a reasonably clear day, it wasn’t quite clear enough to be able to see Mount Fuji; however, we did get some rather spectacular views of the rest of Tokyo.

After the Skytree it was onto Asakusa to visit the Kaminari Gate and Senso-ji Temple. Walking along Nakamise Street towards Senso-ji is rather fun as it’s filled with small stalls selling lots of different products. Definitely a good spot to go to if you want to pick up some souvenirs for family or friends at home.
