World Travel 2013-2014, The Mountain of Pre Rup

After Banteay Kdei, our next stop on our self guided (and powered) tour was Pre Rup. Pre Rup is a mountain style temple and was built as the state temple of Khmer king Rajendravarman around 962. This particular temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

Takeshi and I found it a relaxing temple to visit as there were no hawkers present, and very few tourists wandering around. It can be a bit of a climb to the top (the stairs are steep), but the view of the surrounding country side and temple is well worth it. We ended up relaxing and enjoying the view for a while at Pre Rup before we decided to move on to Ta Phrom.
