World Travel 2013-2014, Trotting through Brugge
Well, our 5am start yesterday obviously wasn’t enough for us so we decided that as we had been able to do so much of Ghent yesterday, we would head out to Brugge today. After a 12 hour day, we were finally back at the accommodation so I’m not sure if it was a great idea doing the two back to back, but we did get to enjoy Brugge.
Brugge is an incredibly beautiful historic town with lots of canals, incredible buildings and of course my favourite – chocolate shops! We had a great time wandering around, and I think the day we spent there was just the right amount of time to really wander around and enjoy the town.
In the afternoon and early evening when we returned, we were able to catch some of the sights at the Mid Lent Fair, as well as the free entry to the Ghent City Museum. Not sure if I would recommend the city museum if it wasn’t on the free entry evening, but it was interesting to take a look at to learn some of the history of the city.
Would highly recommend taking a look around Ghent during the evening though, as the buildings are beautiful when they are lit up and reflected in the water.
