Have to admit, after landing in Kathmandu I wasn’t sure if we had made the right decision coming to Nepal and wandering around Thamel wasn’t improving that thought. Nepal is rather beautiful and different to other places we have been, but the dust, noise, lack of infrastructure and rolling power outages are something else.
Thamel is a very noisy place filled with tourists and lots of locals, so we were glad to escape towards Pokhara but before we did, we went for a wander down to Durbar Square to see some of the sights in the Thamel area. There is lots of colour, noise and people everywhere which makes for some great photo opportunities.
